The bootloader in Symbian phones is the biggest reason why
developers couldn’t able to install any other operating system in Nokia’s Symbian
smartphones. Nokia has no thinking in providing unlocked boot loaders in their
Symbian devices, even they have stopped the support for Symbian users and it’s
a bad news for every Symbian users.
But if you want to install any other open source OS in it,
especially Android than you are in good place, because we’ll give you the mod
which will simply unlock the bootloader of your Symbian Belle Smartphone.
Note: This is only for Nokia Belle smartphones, may work on
phones which get upgraded to Nokia Belle. Tested on: Nokia 603, N8, 500 and
C6-01 and it worked successfully.
So here is the tutorial:
- First of all, download the bootloader unlocker from here.
- After downloading it, simply install it as normally you do, but make sure that your smartphone is hacked as it is unsigned.
- After it installed successfully. Do a hard reset of your smartphone but remember that it will delete all of your data.
- Done! Congrats, you have successfully unlocked the bootloader of your phone.
